It depends on which version of XP you are using.

If you have Windows XP Home Edition installed on your computer
you can simply open Event Viewer and look under Security for
all logon and logoff events. To start Event Viewer you can go
to the Start button, click on Run, enter eventvwr.msc in the
Open box and hit the OK button.

If you have XP Professional Edition installed and you haven't
enabled auditing of logon events then you won't be able to view
past events. If you want to enable auditing in order to view
future events, try the following:

Open Control Panel and double click on Adminstrative Tools.
Double click on Local Security Policy.
Click on the + sign next to Local Policies to expand the
branch.
Click on Audit Policies.
In the right hand pane, right click on "Audit logon events".
Select both Success and Failure.
Click OK.
Close Local Security Settings.

Note: In order to enable auditing in XP Pro, you must be logged
on with an account that is a member of the Administrators
group.

Good luck
