Select the automatic driver checker after temporarily changing the setting to allow PopUps. In Internet Explorer select Tools, Internet Options, Privacy.
By history I was asking when was the printer installed and was this shortly before the problem started. How frequently is the problem with dwwin.exe occurring and for how long.
dwwin.exe is the Dr Watson debugging tool so either there is a problem with the tool or it does like what it is finding.
If the HP driver check reveals nothing then look in Event Viewer for Error Reports around the time the problem with dwwin.exe has arisen and post copies here. BTW you can End Task dwwin.exe in Task Manager, which will put off the problem until the next time.
You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source
and Description are important.
HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp
A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I have a HP color laserjet 3700n printer. How does this connect to my problem? WHat do you mean with the history?
