Re: How do I get the run button back?

If your computer is a member of a domain then access to Run may
have been disabled by your System Adminstrator through a Group
Policy.

If this is a standalone computer, check the Local Security
Policy (Start -> Run -> secpol.msc) for this setting:

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and
Taskbar\Remove Run from Start Menu

If it's set to Enabled, change it to "Not Configured".

You should also check this registry key:

Go to Start -> Run and enter regedit.exe in the Open box. Click
OK.
Navigate to this location:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look for a value in the right hand pane named NoRun with a
Value data of 1. Either delete the value or change it to 0.

Good luck
