Cannot change Theme/Desktop in limited account
My issue is similar to a recent post by Ricky B, but none of the
suggestions seems to fit. My brother recently rebuilt my PC and
reloaded XP sp2.
My wife's limited account is set to Modified theme with a blue desktop.
She can make and apply changes but they don't take effect (except the
windows xp theme will take effect, until the next time I switch users.)
I've checked the Themes service and any restrictions within gpedit.msc
according to suggestions I've seen, but no change.
The really odd thing is, when I first switch to her account, I VERY
briefly see her applied desktop, but then the 'modified' blue with gray
task bar takes effect. I also see it very briefly as I switch FROM her
account to the welcome screen.
I'm brand new to this forum and a bit of a Windows nube, so any
detailed advice would be appreciated. I've searched all kinds of forums
and can't find an answer for this (in most cases, the options are grayed
out, rather than not taking effect.)
Thanks!
