XP Splash Screen off-center (wrong resolution?)

Hi - can anyone help me with an annoyance? During loading, the Windows XP
splash screen is off to one side, making half the logo disappear. No real
issues as of yet, except when I use /sos in the boot.ini, half the text is
missing so I cannot troubleshoot drivers loading.

Any suggestions with correcting this apparent resolution problem with the
splash screen?

Thanks for any help/suggestions!
.
