unmountable_boot_volume error - unable to log onto windows

The other day, upon load up, windows will not load up at all. I get past the
bios setup and then get the WindowsXP load up screen. After the load up
screen i get a blue screen that flashes on the screen and then reboots the
pc. This blue screen goes by so fast, it is impossible for anyone to see
what the screen says. we ended up taking our digital camera and record the
process. we were then able to find out what the screen says. we even
attempted to boot up in safe mode. when we do this, it starts to load up a
bunch of files in dos promts and always stops on agp44.sys file. no idea if
this is important or not. we have not installed any new hardware for at
least 30-40 boot ups. it was never the best of pc's but always worked. any
idea would be appreciative.

The following is what the screen displayed and is slightly paraphrased for
lenght.
