Another way to remove an USB device if you don't have the icon on the
taskbar is to go to Control Panel, and then Add/Remove Hardware icon.
Click on the second option (uninstall/Unplug a device), hit next and
the choose the second option again on the next window (unplug/eject a
device). The next window should show you your USB device and you can
now remove it. Yes, I know, this is not an EASIER way to remove it but
will work none the less. Visit this site, it might help you more.
