Yes. I have rebooted, etc.

The PC manufacturer told me to remove my current display driver, reboot, and
check the dxdiag screen again. He says DX9 is not being recognized because
of the older driver. This makes some sense since I did a reformat last month
and am not running a new NVidia driver.

I am pretty savy with PCs but did not follow him completely. What he say,
however, did seem to make sense and I will give it a try.
