Thanks Wes...thats real useful info. Damn it I found the original message
(it had the word task bar in the title (not toolbar), and the time was 6:47
instead of 2:47 (I was close - lol).

You guys are allright and I have lots to ask about in the future. Let me
ask you a side question about the newsgroup message "subject" (or "short
header" - as I have heard it called). I believe the real "header" is what
you see when you do a right click/properties on the message subject - is
that the correct nomenclature, and is it okay to generally refer to a
message "subject" as a header, or not (ie could it cause confusion). Part
II of my question is below.

I have XPsp2 home edition and my news reader is in Outlook Express. Why is
it when I click on a message subject with one click (and it shows up on my
split screen view below) that some times it will go shaded (indicating I
already read it), and sometimes it will not, and it will remain bold. But
if I double click it, and it expands into a separate window, it will always
stay shaded (which is what I want). I have never been able to figure out
why a single click shades it sometimes and not others.
