MPSVC/MFC application error messages

My PC is a Medion Titanium MD8383 with intel pentium 4 processor 550 with HT
technology 3.40 GHz and it's 8 months old, if thats any use !
Anyway, it was working OK up to about a month ago now I keep getting the
following error messages which are getting more regular,
MPSVC .exe encountered a problem and needs to close.
When this comes up the PC still appears to work OK but the icons in the
system tray sometimes go mad and some disappear, a few times after this error
the PC would not shut down and I had to switch off by holding down the on/off
button on the tower.
MFC application encountered a problem and needs to close.
When this comes up it only seems to affect the Power Producer Gold programme.
I can still access the programme and enter all the information I want to put
on the disc but when I press the 'Burn' icon thats when the error message
comes up and the programme disappears from the screen.
I have sent dozens of error reports.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me what these error messages mean
and what's causing it.
