explorer and outlook error, after office xp pro install problem


I have a win98 machine, after tryin to install office xp pro my set
stated
office xp cant be used, on it .. after rebooting my set, outlook and
explorer

do not work, can someone tell me what they think i can do to fix it

i reinstalled win98 to fill in the blanks if i had any, and still no
luck

and reinstalled office 2000 and still no luck on outlook or explorer
