Re: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

I have run out of ideas...but that is nothing new. I keep reading this
forum and if I have a problem that I can't solve, I post the problem
here. Sooner or later someone will come to my rescue.
If that doesn't work, I go to the Microsoft Knowledge base and search
for solutions. Most of the time if one digs solutions abound.
Re: my procedure...change only the last NoExecute part after the slash
in the last line.
If ALL else fails go to wpwin11.exe/properties and change it to W98
compatibility. THIS did work for me until I solved my problem.
Also, I reinstalled XP SP2 as well in case some files went belly up or
had been modified.
Sometimes, these annoying problems are not unique to one user, we just
think that they are.

| Doug, thanks very much for trying to help me. Unfortunately, it
didn't
| work. When you said that it had to do with one of Microsoft's
updates, it
| gave me an idea, though. After following your directions below and
that
| didn't work, I remembered that I had received an MS update just before
my
| problem. So I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date before
the
| update. Still didn't work.
|
| There must be some way I can solve this problem. Is there some place
else I
| can contact?
