Re: Create A File Association

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Garry,

Open Internet Explorer and click the Tools Menu
Select Internet Options, and click the Programs tab
Click "Reset Web settings" and complete the process.

This should fix most of the settings including http and file associations.

I used to be able to type a web address in the run box and it would open ie and go to that site but now I get the response This file does not have a program associated with it. Create an association in the folders options control panel.

I have looked at the folder options but I am not sure which one of the many folder types I need to ammend, I tried resetting everything but it didn't work. The help files weren't very helpful so if anyone could advise me I would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
