I believe that SP2 will also fix this problem have you considered installing
it?

XP by default will remember 400 folder view settings I believe it's broken
up as 200 system folders and 200 user folders as far as user folders go every
program you install has several folders in it, so 200 view settings will go
very quickly. The edit at the link above will change this from 400 to 8,000,
if your anti-virus program gives you an alert choose to allow the script to
run,
You might want to bookmark this website their is nothing that can go wrong
