Hi Nepatsfan :)
Here we go. I checked the System Status page and Virus definitions say
2/27/05 so they're updated. Everything on the page is green checked. So
that's a good thing. (still odd that Panda picked up 67 infected things
Nortons didn't: RAV picked up 5 and Bit Defender picked up 7.. lol) Full
system scan is 2/28 because I did one yesterday (no infections). Not sure
what previous date was so I'll keep an eye on that. Because it says in
Scheduled tasks that the Status is 'Could not Start'
As for the no support available? Yes I did go through Symantec Support and
when I put in my version was 2003 they came back with 'The 2003 version has
been discontinued and no manuals are available. No online Support and No
telephone support is available. I guess this is their way of getting you to
update to a newer version? :(
So all in all I have to agree with you that Norton's isn't helping but
hindering. Esp if you can't even get support! Plus I still can't 'get into
Norton's' the usual way. I have to go through Norton's Firewall shortcut.
Now.. here's an odd thing. I checked my Scheduled Tasks folder this
morning. Just to see if the 5 min was still there (not 10 like I tried to
change it to... thinking maybe it'd mysteriously change back to 10 min lol)
Guess what it said? 4 hours!! I'm truly stumped now. Although the 4 hrs is
a blessing cuz those 5 min pop ups were driving me crazy!!
So I guess it's decision time, huh? And if I do remove it, pray that ends
this whole friggin problem. You've been SOOOOOOOOOO very helpful and I'm
deeply grateful for all the time and advice you've so generously given.
