Oooops !
You did, indeed, say Serial Ports not USB.... Well then, did you try going
to the Mfgrs. site for your mouse and see if there are updated drivers to
work with XP-SP2? (I have not yet installed SP2 on my XP Home, so don't know
if this is a possibility or not.) But do go to the Dell Forums. Does your
mouse show up in Control Panel ? How about add/remove Programs ?
