Windows could not start...

because following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys.
I've tried to reboot using b-up disks and get this message: File
\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7. All help greatly
appriciated. Thank You.
Windows XP Professional on a Compaq 5001r.
