WinXP SP2 on a very old Pentium III (running OK) recently auto downloaded a
critical update(s) and now will not boot. It seems to start loading drivers
(before reaching the Windows User Interface) and then reboots.

Suspect (but not sure) that it could be the display driver (Nvidia MX440).

Can press F8 to get to more boot options but all (Safe and Last Known Good)
end up the same so I cannot even get to Restore back to pre-update.

Is this a known problem or can some-one at least tell me how to access
restore to roll back before the update.

Thanks JohnI
