Dual Monitors under SP2

I wonder if any of you knowledgeable people can help or offer advice on the
following problem I'm experiencing.

The system includes an AGP Geforce2 MX graphics card and a PCI Riva TNT
based card, each attached to a single monitor.

With plain vanilla XP installed, no problems whatsover, I can select either
card in the BIOS as the primary and the system boots up into XP without any
trouble and I can "arrange" my monitors as I want.

After installing SP2 I can no longer use both monitors.

If I set the AGP as the primary the boot sequence starts and as soon as the
PCI monitor cuts it, there's a brief flash of BSOD and the system reboots.

If I set the PCI as the primary the boot sequence completes and windows XP
is running but only on the monitor attached to the PCI card. Device Manager
shows an exclamation mark against the AGP card.

I've tried a different PCI card (an old S3 Virge). This one will only allow
the system to boot if it's set as the primary (apparently a known situation
with the S3 cards). But as above, everythings ok without SP2 installed, but
once I install SP2 only the primary monitor is recognised - device manager
shows an exclamation mark against the secondary graphics card.

As you can imagine I've now spent a lot of time, wiping and reinstalling the
O/S (thank heavens for Ghost!!), so any help or advise you can give on how
to solve the issue so that I can retain my two monitor setup under SP2 would
be really welcome.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Roy
