Unable to complete installation of update KB885626

Trying to install update KB885626 from windows update, downloads ok but when
installing it just hangs around 3/4 the way through. I've tried downloading
and installing the file manually from microsoft, but again, it hangs at the
same point while installing/updating the file update.sys. When i set the
computer for automatic updates I am unable to shut down as the computer
thinks its still installing an update. I am running XP SP2 on an IBM
Thinkcentre A50 with Celeron D processor
