Why do I feel like I walked into a party after its almost over...?
The image you're showing is a security policy that prevents these programs
from running....it is not causing your task list to disappear as I think you
are implying.
When you remove these settings, and they return, my guess is you either have
a virus that is resetting the registry or your system policy is applying it.
Woudl need to more about your set up to say for sure.
Windows XP Pro or Home?
Is this a home or work machine?
You should be looking at the HKLM run keys for suspicious applications or
load the group policy editor (gpedit.msc), which is where those settings are
typically found..
