Can anyone tell me how to get my computer to Re-Activate?
I was having trouble with my video card, so I uninstalled it (software
only), downloaded and installed updated drivers for it, and re-booted. Upon
re-boot, I got the ol' Hardware has changed...Reactivate... message. System
is working great.
Now, every time I boot, I get that same message and periodically, I get the
icon on my taskbar.
The problem is, I click on the "Yes" Button to activate NOW and nothing
happens. Then I also click on the "Activate" balloon at the taskbar and
again nothing happens. The system doesn't re-activate when I tell it to, but
I keep getting prompted to activate.
I checked the handy-dandy Windows Help, and was given a command line for the
"Run" command (oobe/...etc). Copy and pasted that command and got a message
that the file could not be found. Help also told me the "Activation Wizard"
could be accessed from the Start button under Accessories/System Tools, but
I looked and I couldn't find it.
I've been using this hardware for about ten months now, and had already
re-activated it then.
