Yes that helped, the first part that is, didn't have to go the registry.
Question though, what did that do? You can answer in techno terms, I'll
understand ;)
Darn it, that's the key I was looking for but couldn't find when I was
trying to figure it out on my own. Just so ya know, now it shows the proper
path; D:\Documents and Settings\[Crater]\My Documents. Substitute "[Crater]"
for my real user name.
I also did some further digging into my other little problem, which has been
going on for a while (not sure when it began). To re-iterate, the faded icon
that should be shown in the "My Documents" folder is not being shown. I
looked in the desktop.ini file again, and for some reason the proper
information is no longer there. This is a problem with all the users (there's
only two, my wife and I, mine is the admin. Well, not the "Administrator"
account, my account has administrator rights, my wife's does not. I'm running
XP Pro not Home, btw), but not the "Shared Documents" folder. The icon, or
picture, shows up fine there. At one point I had found the correct
information that the desktop.ini files should contain, but for some reason
can no longer find it. It didn't help anyway.
Thank You.... again.
