I am trying to get a laptop and a desktop to talk to each other through a
USB cable(share files and printers). Both machines run XP pro. I am signed
in on both machines as Administrator. Both PC's are connected to the
Internet via wireless and ADSL. They are pinging each other all right.
However I must be overlooking a few things. Here are my problems:
1. One PC (desktop) has the Network ID button grayed out and I can not get
the settings right to get access to the button.
2. When the USB cable is plugged into the desktop than both PC's don't get
access to the Internet. With the USB in the laptop only the access to the
Internet on the Laptop is OK.
I have spend days reading all I could find in the NG's and on the Internet,
but something (stupid?) escapes me.
Please help.
Thanks,
Daniel
