Two things
1.Part of the problem could be refreshing plug and play for the device. Is
your device showing in device manager? Go to Start\Run and type in
devmgmt.msc\ click ok. Look for your device. It could be showing as "unknown
device" and should say "no drivers have been loaded for this device".
Uninstall it by right clicking and choosing uninstall.
2.Try installing the device again. Shut down Windows and plug the device
directly into a USB port, do not use a USB hub, as that could be part of the
problem. Try installing it again. If it works then try using the USB
hub. This worked for me with a sony memory card reader.
Good Luck.
