Hi Alan, thank you for your efforts:

I tried what you suggested:

I changed the following 2 parameters under 'Administrative Tools'/'Services':

-IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service from Manual to Automatic (Start)
-Removable Storage from Manual to Autmatic (Start)

This is the closest thing I could find to CD/DVD Drives. But it did not
resolve the problem. I am not sure I have used the right parameters under
'services', there are no paramaters for CD/DVD drives as such...

I can access CD's DVD's and open the first directory but then the frame
freezes. The light on the drive does not come one for a long time (and the CD
does not rotate either and I finally the system tells me that the 'programm
is not responding').

What say u?
