Strange error message

When i got to open certain apps. (not sure if there's a pattern) i get an
error message as follows:

TITLE:16 bit Windows Subsystem
MESSAGE: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable
for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to
terminate the application.
OPTIONS: 'Close' or 'ignore'

ne1 know whats going on? thanx in advance

nb choosing ignore also closes app.
