Wierd CHKDSK behaviour

Approx. once a month I run Diskeeper Pro 8.0 (which is the full version of
the bare-bones Defrag prog. written by them for XP) in the boot-time
defragmentation mode.
The first function of this defrag is an automatic reboot, followed by
CHKDSK, then it continues with the BTD.
My PC is completely clean, nothing major has been changed, but for the first
time CHKDSK went 'bezerk'
I wasn't paying much attention, but suddenly noticed continuous lines as
follows -
"Replacing invalid security id with default security id for file xxxxx"
At the stage I noticed this, it was already up to 20,000+ & continued to
replace what appeared to be all files up to 90,000+
I did a Google search & on the MS MSDN site it stated the following -
Error Message:
Replacing invalid security id with default security id for file filename.
Explanation:
The specified file has an invalid security ID. Each file on an NTFS or FAT
volume has a security ID assigned it. The ID assigned to the data file does
not match the ID assigned to security data stream file ($SDS). There is a
mismatch in Ids. Chkdsk is replacing the invalid security ID. No user action
required.
As this is the first time this has occurred, does anyone have any idea what
on earth has caused this, & more importantly, what was it doing?
