Hello,
I have a motherboard with a SiS746 chipset, I had been
using the drivers provided in a CD with the motherboard
and everything worked fine.
Yesterday I downloaded a new version of the driver from
http://download.sis.com/ (Chipset software->IDE Driver-
>Windows XP) and installed it. After installing it the
system rebooted.
Since then I cannot log into Windows XP. It ALWAYS
crashes when the wellcome screen is displayed with the
logo of "WINDOWS XP" in the middle. Account name are not
shown. Mouse moves but can't do anything. The SAME
happens in SAFE MODE.
I have Service Pack 2. The previous driver had no proble
with SP2. I have installation CD and Recovery console
works but I can't find anything.
Help me please :)
and thank you for reading my message :)
George
