OK...
I recently got a new motherboard/64bit processor. I installed them in
place of the system I had. Of course, like I expected, Win XP did not accept
the change and would not start up nomatter what I did (I tried EVERYTHING).
So being that I have 3 large hard drives, I chose to just install winxp on
another drive, Which worked like a charm. However, all of my extremely
important files are stuck on drive C: where the old non-working winXP is.
When I try to access them through the new winxp installation, it says access
denied. For example when I get into my documents and settings folder on my
old installation drive. I have thousands of mp3's and documents that I
cannot loose! Please help me out! Also, I how do I get rid of the boot
screen that has both windows installations option at dos startup?

This is the second time I have posted this question b/c the first reply
didn't help. Please keep in mind that I DID do a recovery installation after
installing my new motherboard/processor, and when that didn't work I tried
doing full. After I just decided to do a full install on another hard drive,
I soon came to realize that I couldn't access my documents folder off of the
old non-working installation. All I need are the files from my documents on
my old system b/c I have very valuable info that for whatever reason didn't
burn corectly on my backup DVD's...after that, I will delete the old
installation and forget about it.

In short...I need to be able to copy 'my documents' from my old installation
on my C: drive to my new installation on my E: drive. First, I need 'access'
b/c right now all it says is access denied.

IF YOU CAN HELP ME OUT, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
