It is likely that the windows firewall has become active and is blocking
your IE connection.

Click on Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall

If you are using Norton Firewall then switch the Windows one off.

If you only have the windows firewall then click on the exceptions tab and
add an entry for Internet Explorer.
