DVI is another means of connecting to monitors (see
http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/DVI.html , first definition) The connector
looks like a rectangular block with many holes. You can get inexpensive
adapter cables to connect a standard analog monitor to the DVI output.
Many video cards have both a VGA (15 pin) and DVI output on them, allowing
dual-monitor setups. (You may also find a TV-out, either RCA or S-Video) on
video cards). You can also find a few cards that have dual VGA outputs.
Your other option is to install a second video card ( PCI based, as your one
and only AGP slot should be filled with your current card).

I guess I will install a 2nd vid card because I'm sure the current vid card is not a dual head card. pardon my newbie question but what do you mean by " one DVI and one VGA" ? Is that what you have in your system or are you recommending that? Anyway thanks for the reply Loring H
