Laptop turnsoff randomly

My laptop is now tuning off when ever it feels like. When it turns off, it
does not restart, it is a blank screen. This use to happen infrequently and
first occured whilst i was playing a game. Gradually, this problem occured
more on a regular basis, but this was not the case whilst doing other things
on the computer. Now, the computer just turns off randomly and frequently.
When it turns off, and if you try to turn it on again immediately, it starts
and before you get to windows it turns off. This therefore leads me to
suspect a power problem, but i am not sure. the laptop is also relatively
new, so power problems should not be an issue.
Most of the time now, i cant watch a film without it turning off at least
once. Windows usually have the report of recovery from a serious error once
you restart your computer, in this case there are no reports.
Can someone please help me on this,
