Hello,

After searching to my limited capacity I'm unable to assess what is causing
an event log that is troubling me. The Event log states:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1508
Date: 8/21/2004
Time: 9:44:31 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: POS
Description:
Windows was unable to load the registry. This is often caused by
insufficient memory or insufficient security rights.

DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the
registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format. for
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.C4\prf3.tmp

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Firstly, I am logged in as a Domain Administrator and have every permission
under the sun, therefore I can't imagine it would be something that I don't
have permission to. Second, I don't understand what is causing this file to
want to be imported into the registry, especially since the file doesn't
exist. I search the registry for "prf3.tmp" and nothing came up except the
event log and the history of google search bar.

What should I look at to resolve this? Is there anyone who's had this
problem and solved it? Am I just missing somthing really obvious?
