Running XP Pro/SP2 on a i875p chipset with the Intel 100/1000 Pro CT LAN
chipset (onboard). Whenever the system hibernates or comes up from a cold
boot, I tend to have problems with network connectivity with an error on my
connection that the connection is limited. I literally have to hard reset
my IP by powering off my router and cable modem.
Router: Linksys Wireless G.
The same configuration had no difficulty before I upgraded to SP2. Since
SP2 corrected an issue where when the LAN driver loads, there is a "window"
before the firewall kicks in. Since the firewall kicks in before the driver
loads (post-SP2 install), this is what might be causing the issue. Anyone
else heard or experienced this?
Specs, for those interested:
Asus PC800E-Deluxe (i875 chipset). Latest drivers from Asus
Intel Pentium 4 3.0E Ghz (Hyperthreading enabled)
Seagate 120GB SATA
Western Digital 120GB SATA
GeForce FX 5700 Ultra
SB Audigy 2 ZX
**Yes, it's a gaming rig. ;)
