Hi Gregg,
Which program is that? The install.log / uninstall.log contains the
uninstallation information about a program. When you remove a program from
Add/Remove Programs, the log files come into play and remove the
corresponding software entries from the registry and the files in the hard
disk. If the LOG files are missing, you may need to reinstall the
application again (in the same path) and then try a clean uninstall again.
To prevent the automatic reboot (so that you can note down the error code
shown in the blue screen), try this:
Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and
then click System.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
Under System Failure, select the check boxes that correspond to the actions
that you want Windows to perform if a sever error occurs.
Uncheck "Automatically restart"

My computer started shuting down and rebooting shortly after the desktop came up and started loading start up programs. It seemed to reboot when it started to load a certain program. I started in safe mode and tried to uninstall that particular program and a window pops up and says "cannot open INSTALL.LOG file, yet it will uninstall other programs. What's up?
