1) You haven't cross-posted, you've multi-posted, which is very
irritating to many (including me). Suggest you learn the difference.
Cross-posting means posting to more than one group (and only two or three
pertinent groups are necessary) and indicating you are doing so by adding
their topics to the newsgroups field of your post. Multi-posting is posting
to multiple groups without putting the topics in the newsgroups field. This
is irritating a) because it means people see your post as a new post in all
groups and b) you will end up having advice repeated. This is frustrating
and annoying for all concerned - the person trying to assist you because
it's a waste of their effort and you because you're being given advice that
you may already have tried and hasn't worked. Please cross-post, and then
only because it's really necessary.

2) I have exactly the same set-up (both ISP and modem) and it works
flawlessly. Have you downloaded the latest drivers? I really don't feel this
is an XP issue (and Wanadoo TS are useless, I know).Could you describe the
exact process you're using to install? You should run the set up CD WITHOUT
THE MODEM ATTACHED and DO NOT plug it in until indicated by the installation
routine. Windows will then detect and install the PPP and networking
drivers. A new driver can be downloaded from www.speedtouch.com. You will
need the original installation CD. However, at this juncture, I would roll
back Windows to a point *BEFORE* you attempted the installation. Then do as
I suggest - run the installation BEFORE attaching the modem, and DO NOT
attach it until the routine instructs you.

3) There is just one other point - are you *SURE* your service has gone
live yet?! When I signed up it took 10 days from my instruction for the
service to go live.
