D: drive became read-only!

Because my d: drive has more space than my c: drive, I save files on the d:
drive and games+programs on my c: drive. All of a sudden, for absolutely no
reason I am aware of, my entire d: drive has become read-only. I have tried
going to the d: drive and on each folder there going to properties,
unselecting the read-only option, and then hitting apply. But it's no good,
they became read-only again right after its done doing its little "applying"
thing. Can anyone help me fix this? I have some important files on there that
I need, and although I'm sure the files are fine as they are I can't upload
any of the files on the d: drive either. Help?
