Here's the error:
Title: "Winlogon generic control dialog: winlogon.exe - Application Error"
Message: "The instruction at "0x01035f81" referenced memory at
"0x00000006". The memory could not be "read"."
Then I can click OK to terminate, in which case Windows reboots, or
click on Cancel to debug, which is pretty worthless to me.
The error happens whenever I ask to lock the workstation (Fast User
Switching off) or switch user (Fast User Switching on), but I can still
work in Windows by just moving the box out of the way.
But here's the funny thing: Every time this happens, the instruction
reference is always different, but the referenced memory range is always
0x00000006. And this isn't thrown in the system logs, either. I can
run Windows normally by just moving the window off-screen.
Did I miss an update somewhere? Should I just forget about it and run
System Restore, or is there some other way that lets me stay in the
present?
