XP won't load after logo

All was well yesterday and now today I start my computer, get the XP logo and
then the screen goes blank and never finishes loading. I can load in safe
mode with networking, but I have no idea what to do. I've tried to load
normally a dozen times already and nothing changes, the screen just goes
black.
I haven't installed any new programs or changed any settings. I turned it
off last night normally.
Any ideas?
