Windows Update on restricted user

I have a bunch of computers that have a restricted user status. When I logged in as administrator I had windows update automatically download...and install at a certain date and time.
The question is :
Does windows update do the updating when someone is logged in as a restricted user?
As a sidenote:

When SP2 comes out will it be part of a windows update (such as a critical download)? I was wondering if it would automatically try to pull that in if automatic updates are set.
