I keep randomly getting that error message along with "Windows -
delayed write failed".
I've attempted to run chkdsk at startup, but it never gets past stage
4 and sometimes doesn't even get that far.
I have an IBM ATA HD and a Seagate SCSI HD and it doesn't matter which
HD is in use, I get the same error.
I've reformatted the seagate, but it still had the same problem, so it
is now disconnected. The ATA drive is in use, but it is steadily
getting worse.
I had problems with win 2k pro, but not as severe.
Day by day, this problem is getting worse and I don't know if it is
software or hardware failing.
I've tried the IBM hard drive test, but it passes all diagnostics.
I know there is a breakdown in communication between the OS and the
hard drive(s), but I'm at my wits end for figuring out precisely where
/ why.
Here's the brief rundown of what's in use:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
MSI NEO-FSR AMIINT 10 Version 07.00T (The latest AMI Bios for this
board)
Single 512MB Geil PC-3200 2.5CAS
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Antec 430watt TruPower
IBM Deskstar 80GB HD
Seagate Cheetah 75GB SCSI
Adaptec 29160 controller card
Win XP Pro SP1
