Hi Doug,

I ran into a similar problem last week on a clients laptop. She could connect through dial-up to AOL and download her e-mail no
problem. Any time she tried to access the web, the request would either time out or say it couldn't find the page. In her case
the problem was that the computer had a standalone proxy client installed. She could get her mail because AOL doesn't use a
standard TCP/IP connection for e-mail. I uninstalled the proxy client and now she can get on the web with no problem. I would
check top make sure that there is no proxy. If there is, then disable it and see what that gets you.
