Have had this problem also. I'm using a Asus P4PE, Samsung 512mb ram (2700) and a
WD 80gb Drive. Have had to re-install Windows XP (repair does not work) twice now.
This time I'm using Symantec's Ghost to back up the system periodically so I won't
have to do a complete install again when it happens the next time. And, I expect It
will unfortunately, since it happened twice already. Although, several months
apart.
