XP will not boot from Disk or CD

Xp will not boot in any mode. In safe mode the last file displayed is mup.sys, then it restarts. Normal boot provides error message and then restarts. When using CD and trying restore or install the following blue stops message

0x00000051(0x00000003,0x00000003,0x00000000,0xe10fe000) or ......,0xe1110000).

Last known use of computer was files on floppy and shutdown with floppy. I do not know what program but most likely a MS office app.
