Could a PC have the wrong BIOS installed? I used the System information
section of Norton's Systemsworks to get details about my system since I am
having so many boot up problems .. I notice that it correctly lists like
processor, etc. I made a note of what BIOS was installed & then compared it
to what Intel's web site said about my motherboard. The numbers appear to
be considerably different from one another. I download the BIOS it said was
for my motherboard. When I tried to run the BIOS it told me that I was
trying to install the wrong BIOS for my board & the download refused to
install. I have gone back to web site & triple checked that I had
downloaded the correct BIOS & I hadn't made a mistake. Could the wrong BIOS
have been installed when the PC was in the shop the last time? If so how is
this fixed?
