Please can someone help: I installed Windows xpPro onto Gigabyte GA5AX rev 4.1 mobo with latest BIOS F4 (Initially with a Radeon 7000 card but due to crashes and instability bought a PCI Nvida geforece MX440) even more frequent lockups.

Error Log report:
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal IO port address (0x4d0), which lies in the 0x4d0 - 0x4d1 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

Unfortunately Gigabyte don't seem to want to know. I have tried turning APM off in the Bios and also changed it from Plug and 'Pray' aware. Another step that I have taken is to uninstall and remove the ISA Vibra 16 sound card.
Despite this I am still getting an additional error in the log with the identical message on each boot up.

I suspect from what I have read that this is going to be difficult to resolve. I wil be really grateful if someone could advise me on how to sort it out and get a reliable machine that doesn't clash with the video drivers.
Thanks in advance
