I tried Belare but it didn't show the program anywhere, so just to be sure,
I went to add-remove programs, and sure enough the program is listed. Why
didn't Belare show the program?

You can download Belarc advisor from:
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
Or Aida32:
Unlimited Possibilities' AIDA32
http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32
Belarc advisor will create an html document with info about your
system, including key numbers.
Good luck
