Right click 'My Computer', choose 'Properties'. Under the 'General' tab,
there will be a display with 'System:'. If XP SP1 is installed, it will look
something like this;
System:
Microsoft WIndows XP
Professional or Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1
