On the properties tab for my DVD player I have the region set to 1.
The tab notes that "CAUTION You can change the region a limited number of
times. After Changes remaining reaches zero, you cannot change the region
even if you reinstall Windows or move your DVD to a difference computer."
I understand why this is so (marketing!), but how is implemented ... how is
the drive going to 'remember' if it is moved to a new system .... NVRAM?
Does this mean that Windows queries the drive for it's region each time the
system starts up, or, Windows tells the drive its region.
Cheers
D
